Today I went from the heaven to hell, in less than 5 minutes.

First the chair from the school that we are very tempted to move to, emailed
me that they would give me an offer and wanted to talk about start up
package over the phone.

Then over the phone I was told that if we move, my husband needs to give up
his tenured faculty for a non-tenure line position.

Sometimes, however hard you fight for it, life plays a joke on you.
